Fifteen Most Important Issues To Discuss Before You Become Engaged Or Married

By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD In the past three decades, the proportion of those who had never married doubled for women ages 20 to 24, from 36 percent to 73 percent, and more than tripled for women ages 30 to 34, from 6 percent to 22 percent. It would seem that more mature women who are therefore marrying more mature men would ask the questions that would make for a solid long-term relationship. Relationship experts report that many couples fail to ask each other critical questions before becoming engaged or married. The following questions will ensure that your wedded bliss is off on the right foot. 1) Disclose health historiesspiritual, physical and emotional. 2) Are you equally affectionate to the degree that you desire? 3) Do you comfortably and openly discuss your sexual needs, preferences and fears? 4) Do you truly listen to each other and fairly consider one anothers feelings, ideas and concerns? 5) Do you clearly understand each others spiritual beliefs and needs? Discuss how your children will learn their spiritual beliefs. 6) Do you like and respect each others friends? 7) Do you value and respect each others parents? Are either of you concerned about whether the parents will interfere in your relationship? 8) What does her/his family do that annoys you? 9) Are there some things that neither of you are prepared to give up in the marriage? Such asvacations without the other occasionally, continuing opposite sex friendships, etc. 10) Are your television viewing habits compatible? Will there be a television in the bedroom? 11) Discuss whether or not you want children. If the answer is yes, who is going to be the primary care giver? Will the primary care giver also work full or part-time? Ideally how many children would each of you want? Is he willing to share the birth control responsibility? 12) What are your respective financial obligations and goals? Do your ideas about spending and saving mesh? If you both work will you have separate checking accounts and a household account to which you both contribute? 13) Discuss your expectations for how the household will be maintained. Are you in agreement on who will manage what chores? The division of labor can be modified as time passes or as other obligations require an adjustment. 14) If one of you were to be offered a career opportunity in a location far from the others family, are either of you willing to move? 15) Does each of you feel fully confident in the others commitment to the relationship? Do you believe that the bond can survive whatever challenges you may face? Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD, Life Coach, Hypnotherapist, Author, "101 Great Ways To Improve Your Life." Sorry Ecards - How Many Did You Send Last Month?

By CD Mohatta We are all human. And we all make mistakes. But not all of us apologize. Let us look into this. All right, do you remember how many ecards expressing Sorry were sent by you during last month? How many times did you say sorry to somebody? Most of us will not know and we are not supposed to keep any count. This article is about the art of sending sorry ecards to express apology for our mistakes. Human beings are strange creatures, much different than other animals. Not many animals have emotions. But we have them in plenty. The emotions and our ego make us act in ways that may hurt others. Some of the mistakes made by us are unintentionally and small. Such as steeping on somebody's feet by mistake while walking on the road. In such situations, most of us utter a sorry quickly. This has become second nature to most of us. We don't shy away from expressing apologies to unknown strangers. But when it comes to people close to us, somehow we apologize less often. Let me elaborate. For example, if you have hurt someone close by speaking anything bitter to him/her, you will not say sorry immediately. You will analyze your action, try to justify it, and also blame the other party for provoking you. Only after you find that if you don't speak sorry, situation may deteriorate, do you say sorry and make amends. Sorry ecards are a solution in this kind of situation. You are not comfortable saying a sorry in a personal meeting. Send a sorry ecard. That is personal and also keeps you away from direct contact. Your sorry card will soothe the hurt party and will also save you from discomfort. Develop the habit of sending sorry ecards to improve relationships CDMohatta writes text for ecards, greeting cards and online cards. Does Feminism Leave You Without a Date?!

By Ranko Magami Are you a working middle aged man who found this title fitting yourself? If you cannot see your children during the week. Don't worry you are not alone. A mother that gets goverment benefits will soon find out she is in the same situation as you are, or even worse, when her little son starts disrespecting any authority and ends up in trouble. A young educated man looking for a job will always be the last to get it cause minorities and women will always come first. Has today's world become owerpotective and it backfired on all of us? A costumer called me from Santa Barbara, California and he talked about his college where many females are ashamed to call themselves a female cause the root of the word is male
So they use some different kind of spelling which I couldn't hear cause he laughed so hard.
But it is not funny at all, it is very sad. If you just imagine all the policemen, fireman, workers and the most dangerous profession of all soldiers sacrifising themselves ewery hour just to benefit everybody and to make us all live in a safer world you cannot understand where does the hate come from. It is so omnipresent that it is difficult to see, but the whole western world has become a man hating place and the rest of the world will soon be there also. Lets analyze: why it happened? In the past, as long as humans exsisted, women have spent considerable amount of money on making themselves beautiful and have bought designer clothes which, basically, cost a fortune. Men were huge, unexplored market, escpecially in the 80's when most of young men were bodybuilding in gyms and following their role models of that time:Schwarzenegger and Stallone. However those men were good enough for the sports industry, actually perfect, but fashinon industry had big looses cause ewery macho man would rather buy a cigar than go to a fancy hair specialist. So they choose to make new role models for the young men to follow. The new role model spends on his looks the same, or ewen more than the women. In many countries, like Japan, males have lost courage to ewen approach women and they stay at home living with their parents and spendig all their surplus money on fashionable accessories. That kind of behaviour may not be good for them, but it is definitely good for all the new industires that came in a spree. If you go out to clubs today you will not see anybody approaching women (if he is sober) and you will see people just checking each other out and doing nothing. Fathers tell to their sons that it was not like that back in the good old days, who knows, all fathers like to exaggerate but it is clear that something is not right today cause men have become less of a man and now they are called metrosexuals. When Bill Clinton, by many the best president in history, cheats on his wife he is questioned in front of the whole world.

Wrongful Termination: You Need A Lawyer - Now!

By Ken B Wrongful termination is actionable and the various remedies available are complex. This form of employment termination is also referred to as wrongful dismissal or wrongful discharge. When your intuition is telling you that you are about to be fired, stall. Stall long enough to contact an attorney. Or, if you already have been fired, contact a lawyer immediately. You can locate attorneys who practice in the area of wrongful termination through the internet or through your local bar association. If you think you are about to be fired, try to escape the confrontation until you have spoken with an attorney. Become sick, claim a family emergency, or use whatever other creative reason that occurs to you to leave work. Yes, its that critical that you make immediate contact with a wrongful termination lawyer. When you contact an attorney, get an immediate appointment to meet with him or her or, at least, a telephone consultation. The attorney can guide you in immediate steps to take and may be able to insert himself or herself between you and your employer. Expect to pay for this initial consultation, but you may receive a pleasant surprise and not be charged for the first consultation. With a lawyer involved, the employer will be much more cautious and will not be likely to skip over any steps in their disciplinary policy. If you already have been fired, the lawyer can advise you on what to do if you and he or she suspect wrongful termination. by Ken B -- Writing to assist others who have experienced or are experiencing discrimination and to share with you some valuable experience.

Necro-Evangelism-When Dead Men Do Tell Tales

By Dennis Diehl There is a phenomenon in evangelism that is quite strange to me. I call it Necro-Evangelism and it is where local or even national radio evangelical and fundamentalist churches continue to play the sermons of long dead founders to convert the masses. There are at least three major churches in my area and one I know of nationally that practices Necro-Evangelism and I'd like to explore the pitfalls of this if I might. I find it funny in a macabre way to hear, usually the surviving son of the now dead evangelist, inviting the audience to stay tuned for a message from my now long dead father and pastor so and so. Some of these evangelistic types have been dead for just a few years, and so we might attribute his ongoing ministry as shock that the man died on the part of the family who has no clue on how to keep the business going. Others have been dead for decades and I suspect that as long as the tapes play and can be recopied, they will continue to preach right up until the Second Coming and maybe beyond! Usually there is a college or "work" that the family of the now deceased evangelist has inheirited to be maintained and, while the current family members might be up to the task, it's just good to hear the founder as if he was alive and well on the air. Others, to me, seem like the type that would never themselves be able to do what dad did with evangelism, but can't give up on the programming dad put in their heads nor the bucks it still can generate. That is an observation about method, not sincerity. People hate change and this delays reality for many who have grown up on the words of the evangelist, now dead. One local college where I live continues to play the sermons of the long dead founder even though two or three generations have taken over the family business of evangelizing since his death. I don't believe I have heard a sermon on the air by any of the sons, all identically named after the founder save for the II,III or IV behind the name. Some Christian evangelists might be happy to return to glory, but you'd never know it as family desperately tries to keep things the same same as always the same as before he became a Necro-Evangelist. Why do we do this and what is the message it sends? You don't see Necro-Evangelists on TV, just radio. TV would be a bit much to take and obviously in poor taste. First of all, it matters not if it is a right or wrong thing to do. I am sure the argument is "well if we had Jesus or Paul on tape, would we not play it?" Well yes it would, even though that isn't going to happen. We have them in books and we're not sure there if they really said and wrote what some say they did. All we need is a bunch of fake Jesus tapes floating around and here we go again! A whole industry would break out verifying or repudiating "the Jesus tapes." So while I understand the point, these men are not Jesus or Paul, and besides if you really know theology, you might suspect that the real Jesus would not have really appreciated the real Paul anyway, so now we have tape conflict. Then we'd have to deal with James tapes and what a mess! There would be a whole market in underground tapes and pseudotaperapha and we'd not be much further ahead than we are today with our understanding. So while Necro-Evangelism might keep the family church, college or business going a few more generations, is it the thing to do really and what message does it send? One advantage is that, indeed, it does buy the unskilled or founder beaten children time to regroup and figure out what to do now that dad is gone. All their life they had preached that the Second Coming was going to for sure be in their lifetime but now what? Usually the first generation founds something, the second maintains it, and the third loses it all. Necro-Evangelism can postpone the Necro-evangelist sinking into a "who?" a generation later than this perhaps. But back to the message it sends that might be not good. 1. Necro-evangelism tells the audience that the sons do not have the conviction or skills that dad may have had but aren't willing to give it up as something dad did but we don't wish to do. So we play dad's sermons and don't have to come up with our own, "alive" ones. In my town, one such family member certainly does not have the voice quality or sound of conviction of his dad for sure, so I can see why he might wish to have dad keep it all going. He confines himself to introducing "my deceased dad, Dr...." and selling his tapes and even the library books his dad cherished, which obiously he doesn't. But he also has another line of work from what I understand, so does not depend on his Necro-Evangelist dad for his sole income. 2. Necro-Evangelism sends the message the survivors are spiritually lazy, but again, just can't give up on the potential to have a following or keep it all going. The second generation makes forays into the world of evangelism, usually getting caught up in politics more than dad did because down deep they know most of what dad either predicted or said did not really happen that way, and they just aren't convicted the same way dad was. Dad kept them out of "the world", and darn it, they are going to see it before they become Necro-Second-Generation-Evangelists too. Since dad impacted their lives with his own worldview, and often not in a very good way, they just don't have the same need to pass it along with dad the Necro-Evangelist's same fervor. In fact, they can't. So they busy themselves with producing dad's tapes and books and don't have to do much that shows their own creativity. They can run for public office or lecture as they wish, but keeping a ball rolling is much easier than getting it started. Anyone can be made the next president of a Necro-Evangelical College or Pastor of a Necro-Evangelistic Church. Starting the sucker is the hard part. Keeping it going can be a challenge but if we keep dearly departed dad in the picture, it is easier for sure. Somewho we filter out the fact that the Necro-Evangelist is long dead and maybe evangelism is a profession for the convicted living. 3. Necro-Evangelism sends the message that the Necro-Evangelist knew all there was to know about the Bible and all related topics. There is nothing new to learn or even unlearn, since dad made no theological mistakes, which is not true. Since we all like to hear the "old, old story, let dad explain it over and over. This is one thing that is wrong with religion in general. It supposes that all it's spokesmen had it right to begin with. If they could read the bible, tell a few good stories, keep you interested and convince you that the reading was the same yesterday, today and forever, bingo!...why change a winning game? Problem is that for every tape played, there are many that can't be for they are either dated by comments made during the sermon or even the family realizes that how or what dad said that day is not true or not appropriate today and let's just not play that one. So you're really not getting the whole man, you are getting the "Best All Time Hits of the Necro-Evangelist," as selected by the next generation. That's kinda no fair to me! 4. Most of those that had been inspired by the now Necro-Evangelist are now themselves Necro-Christians so they aren't even around to hear dad anymore either. They were all about the same age and have long since moved on to other heavenly realms. The kids of those who loved the now Necro-Evangelist aren't going to be inspired by a dead man. Sorry, they just aren't. They will feel the above three points even if they don't voice it. Kids aren't stupid and will see what generations II and III might be up to and how lame it is. These kids tend to find churches by saying "as for me and my house, we shall serve a living evangelist" and not just the memory of the good ol' days when the parents thought the now Necro-Evangelist could do or say no wrong. I used to pastor a church that on way too many occasions sent out taped sermons from the then living Apostle and occasional Evangelist. It was hard enough when they were alive, don't make me listen when they are dead! Well I think we get the point. Is it right or wrong to conduct a Necro-Evangelically-Centric ministry? I don't know. It's just lame and nothing but a evangelical dead end. Tracking the Elusive Calorie - Weight Loss Tips

By Kathryn Martyn, M.NLP Why Making Small Changes in Your Eating Habits Adds up to Big Results in Your Weight Loss Efforts First, get started by tracking your eating for at least a week or more. I carry a little purse sized notebook and just jot down what I eat during the day. Then each evening I input it into the Food & Exercise Diary for Windows software program I use (described in the Tools section of my website). Tracking what I eat allows me to see trends over time, and also makes it very clear why my weight rises sometimes and falls others. If you decide to track your eating, it's best to simply capture yourself being yourself. Don't try to eat better just for the sake of logging better values. The idea is to discover your real eating habits and patterns. Think You Know What You're Eating? To demonstrate how easily we "forget" what we've eaten, try to write a log of what you ate yesterday from memory. You'll be able to remember the main meals, but you'll probably have more trouble remembering the little bits here and there. You may even think you didn't eat anything except the meals, but most people do and yes, chewing gum counts, and so does anything you put in your mouth. Just list the basic foods, meals, etc., as best you can recall. Then put that list aside, and today write down what you actually eat as soon as possible after you eat it. Don't write your log before you eat either. That's not being yourself, that's dictating a prescribed diet. If you're following a certain eating plan, that's fine, but still wait until you've eaten it to write it down. If you remember what you already ate today, write that down too, including that tiny nibble of cake as you walked past, and that little grab from the peanut dish. Everything you eat or drink including plain water, must be listed. Those extra tastes and nibbles can easily add up to 250 or more calories every day. Especially if you tend to taste while you cook. Here's a diet tip: Stop licking the spoon! Quitting those little tastes while you cook could save you from adding a few pounds this winter. I know it sounds hard to do but stop licking the beaters, scraping the last bits out of the bowl and popping bits in your mouth "to see if it's done." Just wait until it's ready, then go ahead and eat some, but remember, those tastes add up and they are not worth carrying around five extra pounds. Put the stirring spoons and beaters immediately under water if you must, or give them to the kids as a treat. The point of a food diary is to capture your regular eating patterns, then choose one thing at a time to work on changing. It's easier to work on changing one small habit at a time. No, each individual thing is not going to cause major weight loss but they do add up. Resolve now that you will drop the habit of licking the spoon, or tasting as you cook. I can hear you wailing that you won't know if it tastes right. Okay so you need one little teensy taste, but not hundreds, get it? A tiny bit on the tip of a spoon or fork tines, is not the same as multiple big bites while cooking. Tasting is not eating. Licking the entire remaining contents of the bowl you used for making pudding is not the same as a taste either. That's a serving. It's better to just break the habit. Sure, it's a holdover from when you were a kid. It was a treat to lick the spoon, but you're not a kid anymore are you? Let your kids have their turn but give this habit up for yourself. Remember, it's these little changes that create real results. It's one trick of those who stay naturally slender. Likewise, when you discover your general eating habits you can choose one thing to change, cut back, or discard entirely. Sometimes it's best to just take it slowly as in weaning yourself from whole milk to skim. First try 4% and when that seems okay, switch down again to 2%. Eventually you'll be drinking skim milk and thinking it's fine, in fact once you get used to it, you'll think whole milk tastes like pure cream. Of course whole milk tastes better than skim, so do thousands of other foods taste better than each other, but you must choose what you'll regularly eat. Do you want to consume a large portion of calories and fat in your milk or would you rather eat something more substantial plus the milk? Many Would Starve if McDonalds Went Out of Business What if there were a global energy failure and we no longer had fast food restaurants? Would you curl up in a ball and not know what else to eat or would you simply learn what else is out there for nourishment? I'd venture you'd adapt to the circumstance. Look at "Restaurant Confidential" by Michael F. Jacobson and Jayne Hurley for a shocking surprise when you see how many calories are in a regular restaurant meal. Once you see you're eating triple the calories you realize, it makes it much easier to cut back from eating out every night to three times a week, then twice or once, until one day you find you eat out for special occasions only. I Hardly Eat Anything! Why Can't I Lose Weight? I hear from a lot of people who say they can't understand why they can't lose weight, yet they eat out at restaurants or
have fast food two or more times a day. They simply don't realize they are probably eating far more than 2000 calories a day, and if they are not pretty active, that can add up to quite a few extra pounds. It doesn't do much good to figure out how many calories you need to lose weight and then far exceed that number simply because you aren't paying attention. Tracking what you eat does takes some effort but it's a great way to discover what's really going on regarding your habits and triggers. You may find you actually reach into the candy dish six times a day or that you chew an entire pack of gum every day. You could be drinking hundreds of calories every day in just one or two extra soft drinks or coffee drinks. In fact, some coffee drinks contain more than 500 calories each. That's usually more than you'd eat for your entire breakfast. Start with just a small blank notebook, and if you enjoy the process you may want to look into a software program, but no matter what, the sooner you start capturing yourself being yourself, the sooner you're well on your way to weight loss success. ~~ Kathryn Martyn, Master NLP Practitioner, EFT counselor, author of Changing Beliefs, Your First Step to Permanent Weight Loss, and owner of OneMoreBite-Weightloss.com Get the Daily Bites: Inspirational Mini Lessons Using EFT and NLP for Ending the Struggle with Weight Loss. How to Choose the Best Programs for Fitness and Losing Weight

By Foras Aje These days, several people are on the search for the effective means to shedding pounds. Especially with the holiday seasons coming around and new years resolutions being made all over the place, knowing how to choose the best programs for fitness and losing weight is now of uttermost importance. Still, the questions remain: Which programs for fitness and losing weight are indeed the most effective to use for success. Well, personally, I've always tended to believe more in natural methods to accomplish this and perhaps this may stem from the fact that similar methods are what worked for my asthma, acne, lethargy and depression. When choosing programs for fitness and losing weight, I strongly suggest that you go for the ones that have a proven success rate, are affordable and are not full of gimmicks. Keep in mind friends that most sites offering so called programs for fitness and losing weight usually have a ripped beyond belief guy and toned lady smiling while working out with equipments and they offer nothing but the same old quick weight loss programs and what's worse is the images you see might not even be affiliated with the site. Therefore, without you having to spend excessive amounts of money on so-called equipments and gym memberships, I present you with a simple routine for exercise that you could implement and trust me, it works. - 40-60 Ab Wheel Roll Outs - Unlimited Chin-ups - Unlimited Chair Dips - Unlimited Pull Ups - Cardio 25 minutes to Whatever (Running, Jogging, Dancing) As far as the choice for diet is concerned, I strongly advocate the use of the mucus-less diet comprising of Fruits and Vegetables (Roots or Leafy Ones) and occasional Juice Fasts or restricted diet of mono-meals of fruits. An observation of this simple routine will depict that this is all natural, low-cost, no gimmicks AND you are improving your health immensely contrary to what most programs for fitness and losing weight have to offer. Still, I must add that make sure you actually enjoy the use of these suggestions as it is a factor of great importance for you to have success with them. So kick butt and take names my friend. Good Eats: Fry Hard

By James Pineman Good Eats episode Fry Hard is a classic. Appearing in the episode are Shirley O. Corriher as our favorite food scientist, Merrilyn Crouch as Alton Browns hoity sister, and of course Vickie Eng as the mistress of gadgets, W. Offering up the real facts on frying and why it doesnt have to be a dirty word makes this a must see if you love your fryer. The episode starts, as do most of them, with a premise and plot. This particular one starts off with Alton Browns sister going on about the evils of frying food. This is all despite the fact that, as AB points out, it is one of the best cooking environments in terms of texture, flavor enhancement, and efficiency. Aside for the overall recipe for fish and chips, there is one very important characteristic to this episode. The strength of it comes from the fact that AB explains, in great detail, how to fry properly so that very little of the fat is absorbed into the food. At the end of the day, absorption of fat is what makes people nervous about frying. The telling piece of evidence is that after the preparation of a great plate of fish and chips, Brown measures the oil from when he started and is only missing a couple of tablespoons for an entire plate of fish and chips. It is definitely both interesting and encouraging information. W, of course, leads us to the right tools for frying. The key, though, is that frying takes place somewhere that the temperature can be carefully monitored and adjusted so that the fat stays out of the food and cooks it. There are, as usual, some great trips into history and trivia with this episode of Good Eats. For instance, the French in French fry refers to the cut of the potato and not to the country of origin. That is something you can carry around with you, but the real star of this episode and what really makes it great is fat and frying. Again, Alton Brown shines by taking the every day foods we love and making them accessible. Tip of the episode: For perfect French fries, you have to fry them twice. The first time you fry them at a lower temperature to get the middle done. Then, after resting them to room temperature, you fry them again at a higher temperature to get them golden and crispy. Celebrity Chefs such as Alton Brown And Rachael Ray are becoming a staple in the diets of American TV Watchers everywhere. What Are The Benefits Of A Cash Advance Loan?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Kenny]Peter Kenny Cash advance or payday loans are one of the quickest ways to get hold of money when you are short of funds. They are predominantly used to cover your expenses until your next payday, when you pay back the loan in full. If you find yourself short at the end of the month and need cash fast, then you should look at getting a cash advance loan. Here are some tips about the benefits of a cash advance loan. What is a cash advance loan? A cash advance loan is a short-term loan that is meant for people who need cash quickly due to a temporary shortage of funds. Usually, you can get hold of a cash advance or pay day loan within a few hours of applying. You are simply required to be in regular employment and fill out a few bank details. You can borrow anything up to about 500 depending on your needs and job circumstances. No credit checks One of the major advantages of cash advance loans is that no credit checks are required for you to get hold of the loan. All you have to do is provide details of your employer and you can get hold of the loan. This makes the application process extremely fast and helps you to get the money when you need it most. Great for emergencies If you have trouble getting hold of other loans or credit cards and have an emergency situation that requires money, there might not be time to find the funds elsewhere. A cash advance loan gives you the opportunity to get hold of the money you need quickly and at a relatively low cost. Costs of cash advance loans Although cash advance loans are relatively cheap if you pay back the loan quickly, you are still paying for the convenience of being able to get money quickly with very little checks. This means that you will pay a percentage of the amount you borrow as a fee, usually around 10%. If you pay back the loan when you next get paid at the end of the month, then this will be all you have to pay. However, if you cant pay this back, then you will be charged again and again until you do. This could mean that in just 6 weeks you will have been charged 90 on a loan of just 300. This can lead you to get into a vicious circle where each month you have to get a cash advance loan just to stay afloat. What are the alternatives? The alternatives to cash advance loans are limited, especially if you dont have a credit card or a family member who can lend you the money. Although they can be expensive, if you use cash advance loans wisely for emergency situations and special circumstances, you will find them a great way to get hold of much needed cash at short notice without the usual credit checks and long approval processes. The Easiest Way to Lose Weight -- Some Thoughts from a Former Fat Boy

By Hugh Campbell My weight bounced up and down for years, and I hated it. When I was lean, I would be on top of the world, holding court everywhere I went, making lively conversation and being full of beans. When I was overweight, I would crumble; I would wear black clothing, never buy new clothes because I always believed that would be a concession the fat was there to stay. I wouldn't look people in the eyes and I would become increasingly anti-social. In a nutshell, I would be a completely different individual. So discovering the easiest way to lose weight was something of a lifelong quest for me. After trying dozens of different diets and exercise regime, I can certainly say one thing conclusively: they all work. Why shouldn't they? If we boil weight loss right down to the basics, then it is a simple case of calories in vs. calories out, and all diets focus on restricting calories, and all exercise regimes focus on expending calories. To this degree, it may be comforting to know that there is a perfect method out there for you. For example, I know men who hated the idea of dieting, but absolutely fell in love with the Atkins diet because it allowed them to eat the food they loved. Equally, I know women who swear by Weight Watchers, simply because nothing is out of bounds so long as you measure your quantities. However, so far we have only been discussing actual pragmatic plans. Arguably the easiest way to lose weight is one which is rarely mentioned -- by re-configuring your belief system. Let me use my own experience as an example: I used to have a chocolate addiction. I needed chocolate every day. Every day I would eat chocolate, feel rotten about it, and swear in the evening that the next day would be chocolate-free. Of course, as soon as I woke up, I would have a craving for chocolate and, more often than not, I'd rush out to get some as soon as possible. It was this kind of addictive behaviour that led to me being fat and staying fat. One day I sat down with my laptop computer, opened a word processor, and just started typing about how I felt. I didn't "think" about it, I didn't attempt to form a beautiful documentI just spilled my guts. After 4000 words, I reviewed what I had written, and it blew me away. You see, it was like it was my conscious self speaking, whereas my chocolate-obsessed persona was the irrational subconscious dictating my actions. This document I wrote laid things in perspective and painted a gruesome picture of exactly what I was doing to myself. And you know what? The next morning I woke up -- and didn't crave chocolate. In fact, I watched what I ate and exercised too. And I kept this up for months to come and eventually shed 70 lbs to take me back down to being a lean machine. Ultimately you can have the greatest diet and exercise plan in the world, but it will be useless without the right belief system. Yes, having a good plan is a huge motivator and you should have something written down in black-and-white that has a track record for working, as well as fitting in with your own needs. But just ensure that a plan is backed up by a change in beliefs brought on by self-analysis. The easiest way to lose weight is a two-pronged attack of psychology and planning. Hugh Campbell has had a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. After altering his belief system, he used a unique plan to get 70 lbs off. Intimate Relationships: 13 Ways To Improve Yours, Part 2

By Danny Presswood A great marriage or relationship is a FANTASTIC thing, wed all agree. Wed also agree that a lousy marriage is awful! Since half of all marriages end in divorce, its obvious that great relationships are hard work! So how can we stack the deck in favor of an AWESOME marriage? Every article in this 4 part series lists 13 Keys for improving relationship intimacy! You will find the entire series in the Feature Articles Section of K-9 Outfitters, a Division of Damascus Road Enterprises.
1. Find the local Lovers Lane in your community and drop in some evening on your way home from a romantic dinner. (Be sure to use a breath mint after dinner). If you dont know where Lovers Lane is, ask any local teenager. Or you can ask a local policeman by posing as a concerned parent looking for their wayward teen. Trust me, some good old passionate necking will do your relationship intimacy a world of good.
2. Write I Love You ____ with chalk on the sidewalk outside their office building. Then call and challenge them to find the secret message youve left for them somewhere between work and home. Have a special prize (even a candy bar, perfume, cologne, a sexy teddy nightie, a new CD of his favorite group, etc.) to give them if they find the message. Your relationship intimacy will benefit.
3. Read a relationship book and discuss it together. One of my favorites is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. He even has workbooks to use during your study together. (Hint: Once you discover your mates Love Language, learn to speak their language fluently!) Some other books I highly recommend include Five Foundations for Marriage by Robert & Judson Cornwall; Hidden Keys of a Loving Lasting Marriage by Gary Smalley; Equality and Submission in Marriage by John C. Howell; The Marriage Checkup by H. Norman Wright; Building Your Mates Self-Esteem by Dennis & Barbara Rainey; Strike the Original Match by Charles Swindoll; Keeping Your Marriage From Burning Out by William L. Coleman; Love Life For Every Married Couple by Ed Wheat; For Better, For Worse, For Keeps by Bob Moeller; Growing A Healthy Marriage, Mike Yorkey, Editor; His Needs, Her Needs by William F. Harley, Jr.; and The Many Loves of Marriage by Thomas & Nanette Kinkade. You can find these and many other books on marriage and relationships in your local bookstore. This exercise will bring surprisingly greater relationship intimacy to your marriage.
4. Develop a special code for you and your spouse to use with beepers, blackberries, or cell phones, when you are thinking romantically about one another. Think relationship intimacy.
5. Try this exercise. Each of you take pen and paper and answer this question; What do you want more of from this relationship? Each of you list 5 things you want more of and swap lists. Write regular reminders to encourage one another, and be sure to write notes of thanks when your partner fulfills your wishes and increases your relationship intimacy.
6. Establish a weekly Movie Night. Watch a movie about love and relationships, and discuss what you learned when its over. Focus on how those lessons can improve your relationship intimacy.
7. Write a poem, sonnet, or song about your mate. It doesnt have to rhyme and it doesnt have to be great! Its enough that you wrote it about the one you love (be sure to use their name in the title or body of the composition). I assure you they will be duly impressed and intimacy will flourish.
8. Make a list of the 50 (or 100) Places I would like to be alone with you. Or it could be the places Id like to go with you, kiss you, make love with you, or whatever you choose. To help your relationship intimacy grow even more, devise a plan of how and when you will visit these places and fulfill those fantasies!
9. Discover new and unusual places and ways to communicate I Love You! to your spouse. Ive seen banners behind airplanes, billboard signs, paintings on water towers and underpasses, and so on. Is money an issue? OK, try these. I once made a tri-fold anniversary card for my wife by covering the cardboard from a washing machine with white table runner paper, writing a message in crayon and magic marker, and filling the inside with a year by year montage of pictures of our life together. Another time I used table runner to create a 10 foot long banner with a birthday message of love. Use your imagination and keep in mind that relationship intimacy is the goal.
10. Send a pair of oven mitts to your spouse at work, with this message attached. I am going to be too hot to handle tonight, so wear these! then greet them at the door wearing nothing but a smile! (First, be sure to send the kids to Grandmas for the evening!). Be careful, though, because this will not only set your relationship intimacy on fire, this behavior has been known to cause babies.
11. Think of some of your lovers favorite things. Create an acronym of their name with each letter of their name standing for something they like to eat, do, smell, wear, hear, see, etc. Then give them each of the things represented by the acronym. Your relationship will truly become more intimate.
12. Surprise your spouse with a weekend getaway to a local hotel. Rent a room with a Jacuzzi or spa. Order room service, and dont leave the room all weekend. (You can figure out the rest Hey! This is a G rated article). Think relationship intimacy!
13. Make a practice of asking your spouse Hows your Love Tank today? (Each of us has a love tank. It might be full, full, full, full, or empty). Naturally, the follow-up question is What can I do to make your love tank full again? Remember, your concern is for your spouses intimacy needs. So wear thick skin, and gladly do whatever they need for their love tank to be full again. Thats what marriage is all about!
Here is a tool for using these ideas. Go through the entire list together and rate each of the ideas. Ladies, place your numbers on the left side of each item. Gentlemen, place your ratings on the right side of each idea. Use the following rating scale:
1 = My Personal Favorites! 2 = I Would Love For You To Do This For Me! 3 = I Would Love To Do This For You! 4 = Lets Discuss This Idea Further! 5 = There Aint No Way, Baby!
Have fun with this list of 13 ideas. The bottom line of each article in this series is really two-fold. First, I want you to learn to think of the wants, needs and desires of your spouse before you think of your own. Second, I want you to learn to have fun together again! Let your imagination run wild! Try actually doing the things listed in this article. If you will do just one activity each week from the entire series of articles, you will increase the intimacy in your relationship (at least once a week) for an entire year!

Sheds

By Marcus Peterson Sheds are single-storied outhouses, usually constructed in gardens, which are primarily used for storage. The design of a shed and its furnishing depends upon individual tastes. Many people construct their sheds themselves using simple carpentry skills and crude building tools. There are different types of sheds depending on the use that they are put to. The most common type is a garden shed that is used to store garden tools. These are generally found in houses with a garden. Tool sheds contain all types of sundry tools like screwdrivers, saws, hammers, and nails and are used by people that have a penchant for light furniture work and other types of hardware engineering. Storage sheds are used to stock unused household items that may be of use sometime in the future. Some people build sheds just so they can relax in them and pursue their hobbies in peace. Sheds for children may also contain stuff like their toys, sporting equipment, and computers. Garages can also be classified as sheds. Other types of sheds are lawn sheds, pool houses, and boathouses. In America, outbuildings with an area of less than 200 square meters can be classified as sheds. All sheds require zoning approvals. Sheds that have an area of more than 100 square meters also require building permits. There are also certain rules for the building of sheds. Sheds that are less than 100 square meters need anchors on all four corners. If the sheds are above 100 square meters, then they need four inches of gravel foundation apart from the anchors on all four corners. Sheds can be constructed with wood, bricks, or metal. They are basic structures with hinged doors, tiny windows, and a shingled roof. Inside there may be minimal furniture like a worktable and a chair. Sheds are personal outbuildings, but that has not prevented them from evolving into a unique architectural style. Sheds sport different roof styles like the gambrel, gable, and New England styles. Based on their structures, they may be of lean-to locker, or colonial saltbox potting types. Different houses have different types of sheds pertaining to their individual fancies. Though people may construct their own sheds, it is important to select a good style since the design of the shed affects the overall appearance of the property on which it is built. Sheds provides detailed information about sheds, how to build a shed, metal sheds and more. Sheds is affiliated with Modular Home Plans. Old Coin Value - What's Important?

By Frederic Madore Everything you have as probably some sort of value attached to it. Sometimes this value is founded on how you feel about a certain item, while other items are given values assigned by others. The same applies to old coins and other coins in you collection. While professional coin dealers or expert coin collectors will know the old coin value for various coins, we may have no idea about this. This is the main reason why you should acquire as much knowledge as you can about evaluating old coin value and what their price is. The knowledge you will gain is priceless. You will be able to get a ruff idea about what you can expect to get from the old coins in your collection. The best way to go is by reading books and articles even searching on the internet. You will find a great sum of information about old coin value and their price rates. Another good way would be to go to coin exhibitions or fairs. This way you will be able to see how experts evaluate coins before they make any judgments about the state of the coin. Here are a few pointers that contribute towards the old coin value:

- The old coin must be in a fairly mint condition (which means).
- The coins must have the country of origin fairly legible.
- The mint date can still be seen.
- The wear and tear should be barely visible
These marks or should I say (identifying marks) are some of the items that expert coin collector and coin dealers look for. These marks are essentials when it comes to assigning a value to an old coin. You should learn from reading various books and articles how to identify those marks. Practicing your coin grading abilities on your own collection should help you to identify what an old coin value will be. Once you are confident with the coin grading process, the next step should be to see what an actual expert has to say about the old coin value. You can usually get a good opinion by visiting your local coin shop. The value of the coin should help you decide what to do with your old coin depending on what type of collector you are. In other words now that you know the old coin value, depending if you are a coin collector or an investor, you can decide whether you want to sell it or keep it for your collection. Keep in mind that if you hang on to your old coins for a long period of time there is a good chance that the value will climb.
I hope that the information above was useful to you. Cheers and thank you for reading. Here at coin-collecting-tips.com, we offer various information about coin collecting to help you become an expert coin collector. John Polkinghorne on Science and Providence

By Britt Peterson To those even vaguely familiar with the field of science-and-religion, John Polkinghorne hardly needs an introduction. In the 1970s he left an impressive career as professor of mathematical physics at Cambridge University to become an Anglican priest. Using his training in both science and religion, he has written several books that seek to bridge those two worlds. Science & Theology News asked Polkinghorne about his most recent book Science and Providence and what contribution it makes to the field of science-and-religion. What inspired you to write this book? I wrote the book because I thought it important to show that science was consistent not only with a picture of God as the source of cosmic order and fruitfulness but also with a theistic understanding of divine providence at work in the history of the world, operating through interaction within the open grain of natural process. This is the kind of God to whom religious believers pray, and science, properly understood, does not forbid them to do so. How does this book fit into the field of science-and-religion? The topic of divine action, raised in the book, was the subject of much subsequent discussion to which I also made further contributions. It is clear that science, carefully evaluated, has not demonstrated the causal closure of the world, so the defeaters, who were claiming that physics kept God out of history, have been defeated. For you, what is the most challenging part of writing? The challenge in all interdisciplinary writing, including writing on science and religion, is to be clear in setting the arguments before the reader, who often will not be an expert in all the topics discussed, while being scrupulous in giving a truthful and accurate account of the ideas involved. What is the most rewarding part of writing? The greatest reward comes from being able to help people gain a deeper understanding of issues of great significance. What advice would you give to new writers in the field? I would particularly encourage more writers whose expertise lies in the human sciences, such as psychology and neuroscience, to make more contributions to the literature. This part of the frontier between science and religion is clearly an area of great importance, and one that is still relatively under-explored. Britt Peterson is an editorial intern at Science & Theology News. Make Your Own Christmas Cards

By Ian White Are you tired of sending the same old Christmas cards depicting boring baubles and dreary bells year in and year out? Have you ever thought that you could design better Christmas cards yourself? Why not have a go this year? The best time to begin collecting material for making Christmas cards is during the previous years yuletide season. Collect as many seasonal clippings, ribbons, bows and small decorations as possible from magazines, wrapping paper, gift tags, Christmas cards, advent calendarsthe list is endless you wont have to look far for inspiration during the Christmas period. Once you have amassed all of your material, store it in a special craft chest. You may wish to divide your material into different themes and put it into individual drawers in your craft chest. You can then decide when to begin making cards for next Christmas. This will depend on how much time you have throughout the year and how many cards you wish to make do you want to make a card for everyone on your Christmas card list or just a few for close friends and family? Before starting to make the cards, you will need to buy either some card for cutting, folding and making your own card blanks or some ready-made card blanks with envelopes - this is the quickest and easiest way. Look in the crafts-paper crafts-card making section of eBay for good value packs of card blanks and matching envelopes or try your local craft store. White or cream is a good background color as it enables you to use a variety of colors on top but you dont have to restrict yourself to this color, you can be as creative as you like. Red and green also make good background colors for Christmas cards. You may also wish to buy peel-offs, which are stickers with such greetings as Happy Christmas, Seasons Greetings, etc. They are useful for giving your cards the finishing touch but are not essential, as you could write a greeting using a silver gel pen, for example, or not include a greeting on the front of the card at all. Sticky pads are another useful addition to your Christmas card craft making kit. These small foam pads with adhesive on both sides give certain images a slightly raised effect, allowing them to stand out from card slightly. They are excellent for giving more prominence to centerpieces. You could also buy other materials like handmade or mulberry paper but these are not necessary if you have amassed a lot of your own Christmas material. Alternatively, if you do not have any materials for making the cards, you could buy a Christmas card making kit. This will include several card blanks as well as many bits and pieces that you can use to design and make cards. It may even have suggested designs and instructions, which are great if you lack a little inspiration. As far as tools are concerned, the only essential tools are a pair of scissors, a ruler and some glue. A glue pen is very useful as it allows you to apply glue very finely to small decorations. Now the fun beginsjust sit down and let you imagination run wild. Try out different designs on the cards without sticking them down. If one design doesnt work, discard it and begin again but dont be too judgmental the idea is to have fun. Some designs will be better than others but you wont develop your own style if you dont give your creativity full rein. As a finishing touch, you could add a little sticker on the back saying handmade by These stickers are available to buy or you could print them yourself from your computer. If people like your cards, you could have orders coming in for next years cards and before you know it, you will have set up your own card making business. You could even sell your surplus cards to friends, at local groups and fairs or even on the Internet. eBay is a good place to start selling hand-crafted items online. If you do begin selling your cards, bear in mind that you can only sell your original designs. If you have copied someone elses design either from a book, magazine, website or another source, you cannot sell it as it would be a violation of copyright, unless it is explicitly stated that it is a copyright-free design. So, sit down, relax and enjoy a creative pursuit in the run-up to Christmas. The rewards could be greater than you expect. Abdominoplasty / Tummy Tuck

By Peregrino Lorenzo Man has always been amused by the way our Creator conceived the human body. This could be appreciated in the works of eminent artist and sculptures, particularly during the renaissance time. The human body with its curves and contours as we portray it in our mind should be complete and flawless. However, nothing in this world is created with inestimable beauty. As we witness the changes that our body would undergo through time. In particular our abdomen, this would be skin laxity, fat deposits at the middle and lower abdomen and protrusion of the abdominal musculature. This is brought about by multiple interrelated causes; such as ageing, pregnancy and massive weight loss. The abdominal transformation that we incurred through time could be address by abdominoplasty or commonly term as tummy tuck. Abdominoplasty can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence, but it would not necessarily change your looks to match your standard, or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon. Prospective patient that are good candidate for this procedure are men and women with large fat deposits and / or loose abdominal skin that would not respond to diet and exercise. This procedure will particularly benefit women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can not return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with slight obesity, can also be improved. Tummy tuck can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen and also tighten lax and / or excess skin. Tummy tuck is a body contouring procedure that can be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis using general or regional anesthesia. The procedure does produce a permanent scar that usual extends from hip to hip. A horizontal incision is made at the lower abdominal area, from hip bone to hip bone along the "bikini" line, just above the pubic area were the resulting scar could be concealed by clothing. A second incision is made to free the navel from surrounding tissue. Initially, the surgeon gently separates the skin and subcutaneous fat from the abdominal wall, and the abdominal muscle and fascia are tightened with plication sutures to lessen the protrusion. The excess skin and fat are removed then flap is closed by layers of sutures. A tube drain may be left in place for several days. A mini or partial tummy tuck is used to remove fat deposits near the navel, the incision is much shorter and the navel may not be moved, although it may be pulled into an unnatural shape as the skin is tightened and stitched. This procedure is sometimes conducted endoscopically. In which a small incision is made near the belly button and excess fat is removed through it. A complete tummy tuck generally takes about 2 to 5 hours. An elastic bandage is applied following the surgery to help prevent swelling and give comfort to the patient. In some cases, drainage tubes are inserted for the first 2 to 3 days to help remove excess fluid. There is the possibility of infection following any surgery. However, when done by a qualified plastic surgeon that is trained in body contouring, the results are generally quite positive. Nevertheless, there are always risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure. Your surgeon will likely prescribe you with antibiotics to avoid infection in addition to any pain medication. Swelling, bruising and numbness are normal after the surgery and will subside in a few weeks to months. Patients are encouraged to begin walking right away even it they can not stand upright. Stitches are removed in 5 to 10 days, after which a support garment is used in place of the dressing. Healing from a tummy tuck is slow since this is major surgery. Most patients return to normal activity within 4 weeks. Exercise is encouraged after the initial recovery period to help tone the muscle. The scar is permanent but will fade in 6 to 9 months. By Mayanne Mackay Welcome to the world of Reverse Painting on Glass.
Reverse painting on glass has been considered apopular 'art of the people' for many centuries. The use of glass as a support for this intricate painting technique has not hindered its continuing popularity. A reverse painting is created by painting a subjectonto one side of a sheet of glass (or plexiglass) after which it is viewed from the other side of the glass, or throughthe glass. Contrary to painting on a canvas or similar support this technique requires an artist to paint in reverse, or 'back to front.' When an artwork is created on a support such as canvas or wood panel, it is painted from the same angle and direction that it will ultimately be viewed from on completion. However, in the case of a reverse painting the painting side and the viewing side of the artwork are opposed to one another. Similarly, an artwork that is created on a canvas usually begins with a rough outline and gradually builds towards its completion and finishing touches. In a reverse painting this procedure begins where it would normally end and finishing touches such as finer details and the artist's signature are usually applied first and the background applications of colour are added later, hence the use of the term 'reverse painting'. The effect that glass can give to a reverse painting can make it a very beautiful object. Some artists use thick glass in order to give more depth to their work. For those who see a reverse painting on glass for the very first time it can take a little while to realise that the subject has been painted on the surface of the glass itself.
